An Australian Success Story

BBY is an independent Australian financial services group and stockbroking firm. With an extensive global reach, BBY's mission is to service the local and international needs of high growth companies, broker dealers, private clients and global institutional investors.

Our vision is to remain Australia and New Zealand’s largest independent stockbroker, providing the very best capital markets and investment solutions for our clients.

Clients of BBY benefit from our local knowledge and our global distribution with offices located in Adelaide, Auckland, Gold Coast, London, Melbourne, New York, Perth, Sydney (Head Office) and Wellington.

Established in 1987, BBY has developed a reputation for providing quality services, innovative solutions and high level execution for its institutional, corporate and high-net-worth clients. The growth of BBY’s private client and online trading business, and the move to self-clearing in 2011, has meant that our product offerings and service is unmatched by any of our competitors.

BBY has over A$2 billion in assets under administration and a wealth of Australian and international clients. Not only does BBY have the resources, but with over A$7billion worth of completed capital raisings, BBY has the experience to take corporate finance ideas from concept to reality. BBY is also one of the fastest growing, full service stockbroking houses in Australia and New Zealand with an average of $2.4 billion ASX equities turnover per month (15th by market share in Equities, 1st in Options).

BBY won Best Investment Firm, Best Equity Capital Markets Firm and Best Equities Research in the East Coles Independent Investment Bank Survey 2013.

Our Clients are at the Heart of Everything We Do

Relationships have always driven BBY’s approach to doing business. Our clients are at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality products and services. Whether it be corporate advice, institutional sales and trading, private client services, equities research, broker dealer services or funds management, we work hard to realise the very best opportunities for our clients.

We understand that choosing the right investment partner is not easy. At BBY, our teams have the right combination of experience, market knowledge and determination necessary to achieve the investment objectives of our clients. We remain dedicated at all times to the specific goals of each and every client, and we strive to make certain that we are our client’s partner of choice for the long term.

What Makes BBY Unique

As an independently owned Australian stockbroker, we determine our own future. This is the envy of other stockbroking firms who operate either as a branch or as an associate of a global giant.

While based locally, we act globally with a strong presence across Australia, New Zealand, UK, US and Asia. Our business model and size; combined with our connectivity, technologies and experience; orientates us in a prime position to service the local and global capital needs of our clients. We invest in leading-edge technology to ensure we have a highly scalable business and we continue to actively source out the very best employees worldwide.

BBY offers one of Australia's largest ranges of investment products and services. We continue to expand our offerings, and we are committed to realising the very best opportunities for our clients by providing products and services of the highest quality.

Furthermore, in 2011, BBY returned to self-clearing when most other ASX Participants were outsourcing their back office to a third-party clearer. The flexibility of self-clearing allows us to offer customised solutions for our fast growing Broker Dealer network, and outstanding service for our direct clients.

BBY has the courage to look at stories with a fresh perspective and back in 2005, BBY saw the potential in supporting Fortescue Metals Group. We were the first research house to initiate a buy recommendation on the aspiring miner and BBY Corporate Finance raised an abundance of capital for the future mining behemoth. Within 3 years, Fortescue had become the #1 performing stock this millennium returning over 4,200% to investors. The market is inefficient and there are always situations where mispriced companies have been overlooked by investors. We take on and unlock these situations into high-potential opportunities for our clients, as we have the right experience to identify viability within companies.

Awards & Recognition

The stellar growth of the companies we have supported and the realisation of client financial objectives are ample rewards in our eyes. However, we have also received plaudits and awards from the broking industry, as well as the Australian business community more generally. These awards are testimony to our belief that Australian companies and investors can be well-served by a truly independent local firm with specialist skills and a commitment to the Australian market.
